The 2010 U.S. Census recorded 9,847 black Americans with Diggs as their last name. That represented 68% of the total of 14,467 entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article tracks their numbers in the census since the Civil War. We also look at historic African American people named Diggs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We end with a review of early records of black military service in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
